Hyderabad: A body of a woman, allegedly murdered by her husband, was found at her residence in Kalapathar on Saturday night. According to the police, the incident occurred following a heated argument at their house on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as G. Shivanila, police said.
G.Yella Swamy, a labourer had a second marriage with Shivanila in 2010 and the couple had two children, the police said, adding that while the couple stayed at home, their teenage children were living at a private hostel in Uppal.
“The couple has been having frequent quarrels for the past several days over petty issues and Swamy often used to come home drunk and harass Shivanila mentally and physically. Even late Saturday night, he came home in an inebriated condition and picked up a fight with his wife following which, he grabbed a stick and attacked her on head. She sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot,” the police said. A case under section 302 (murder) of IPC was booked and Swamy was placed under arrest.
