Bengaluru: Two held for drug peddling
Bengaluru: Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths arrested two people on charges of possessing and selling banned drugs, like LSD papers and MDMA tablets.
The CCB arrested 23-year-old Adarsh K.N., a resident of Basaveshwaranagar, who was allegedly selling Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), a hallucinogenic drug, and MDMA tablets (Ecstasy pills) to youth on a footpath in Basaveshwaranagar.
Based on a tip-off, the police caught Adarsh and recovered 11 LSD papers and 11 MDMA tablets worth Rs 50,000. The CCB officials said that the accused, himself a drug addict, sourced LSD papers and MDMA tablets from other countries and sold them to make quick money. Adarsh took the help of his friends to get the drugs delivered to him, the police said.
In another incident, the CCB sleuths arrested a 47-year-old man for peddling drugs and recovered different varieties of banned drugs from him.
The CCB officials picked up Suresh from his house in Kamakshipalya based on a tip-off and found banned drugs worth Rs 15 lakh at his residence. Suresh sourced the drugs from different countries and sold it with the help of his son.
The police recovered 180 gm of ganja (hydro), 169 LSD papers, 168 MDMA tablets, 210 gm of hashish and a mobile phone, all worth Rs 15 lakh. The police are trying to bust the gang that supplied drugs to Suresh.
