Tamil Nadu: Rs 2 lakh each for info on two sensational cases
Chennai: After hitting a dead end in the investigation of Ramajayam murder case and sensation money wagon heist, the state CB-CID had announced Rs 2 lakh reward each for any information that leads to solving the two cases.
The CB-CID had assured that the identity of the person providing the identity will be kept confidential and people can contact the CB-CID team through landline 044-28511600, or SMS or WhatsApp on 99400-22422 and 99400-33233.
K.N. Ramamjayam, the brother of former DMK minister K.N. Nehru, was found murdered on the banks of Cauvery river in March 2012. The CB-CID has been probing the murder, but had made no arrest so far. The victim’s wife had approached the high court in the year 2014 seeking to transfer the case to CBI.
The CB-CID has been claiming that it was investigating the case on various angles, including personal, business and political rivalries, and was close to cracking it and then sought time at court to complete the investigation. But so far a breakthrough had been dodging the investigation agency.
Ramajayam, then aged 50, was found murdered, after he went for a morning walk on March 29, 2012. It was believed that he was abducted from the posh Thillai Nagar, Tiruchy.
His body was found in a bush on the banks of the Cauvery near Thiruvalarsolai. Police had said that his wife received a call from Ramajayam’s mobile phone, but the caller disconnected it quickly. A police patrol team spotted his body a few hours later. His body was found with head injuries and he was gagged while his hands and legs were tied.
In the second case for which also a reward of Rs 2 lakh is announced is the heist of Rs 5.75 crore soiled notes from money wagon from Salem - Chennai train on the night of August 8, 2016, after making a hole on the roof of the compartment while the RBI was transporting a total of Rs 342 crore from Salem to the city. Rs 500 notes worth of Rs 5.75 crore were found missing when the wagon was opened at the Egmore railway station.
