Arrest accused in tribals' gangrape in Vakapalle

They alleged that the police had tried all possible efforts to close dilute the case.

Visakhapatnam: Representatives of various organisations demanded the arrest of 13 Greyhounds personnel, who were accused of gang-raping tribal women in Vakapalle under G Madugula mandal in Vizag Agency in August, 2007. They also demanded the government to implement the fast track trial of the case. Mahila Chetana secretary K. Padma demanded the government to arrest all the 13 Greyhound constables who were ‘involved’ in the gang rape before initiating fast track trial in the court.

Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, Ms Padma alleged the police were trying to dilute the case and close it along with AP civil liberties committee Visakha committee president T Sriramamurthy, Revolutionary Writers Association (Virasam) founder member T Krishna Bai, Chaitanya Mahila Sangham member Lalitha, Human

Rights Forum members, hoped that the Vakapalli tribal women may get the justice if the fast track trail was to be conducted. They alleged that the police had tried all possible efforts to close dilute the case.
