Hyderabad: A 73-year-old retired employee with the transport department, accused of killing his wife at their residence in Bowenpally in February 2022, was found guilty of the offence.
The IV Additional Metropolitan Sessions Court at Secunderabad sentenced G. Venkatesh, to imprisonment for ten years. Venkatesh was suspecting his wife of having an affair and assaulted her with an iron rod. The victim died while undergoing treatment.
Based on a complaint from their son, Bowenpally police registered a murder case and arrested Venkatesh. During the investigation, police recorded statements of the family members, gathered evidence and filed a charge sheet in the court.
Despite no eyewitnesses to the offence, the court examined the statements of the family members and pronounced Venkatesh guilty and sentenced him to jail on Wednesday.
