HYDERABAD: S.M. Vaishnavi, 17, who was injured in an accident at Bowenpally on Wednesday, succumbed to the injuries here on Thursday. She received multiple injuries and also suffered excess bleeding, resulting in her death, initial probe into the incident revealed.
The van driver fled from the spot, leaving Vaishnavi and her father S. Vijay Kumar, 61, injured on the road. Police are on the lookout for the van and the driver.
The incident happened on Wednesday morning, when Vijay Kumar was on his way to drive Vaishnavi to college. When they were near an automobile showroom, Vijay Kumar lost control and they fell on the road along with the vehicle.
Meanwhile, a van, passing in the same direction, ran over Vaishnavi. Locals rushed them to a hospital at Kompally. The condition of the father is stated to be out of danger, police said.
A case has been registered against the van driver and further investigation is underway, said Bowenpally additional inspector V. Sardar Naik.
