Hyderabad: A man from Dhoolpet who was smuggling ganja from Odisha was arrested by the Langer Houz police who seized 11 kg ganja and a two-wheeler from accused Chandan Naveen and remanded him to the judicial custody.
At about 11.30 am on Friday, police personnel who were conducting vehicle-checking at Moghal Ka Nala intercepted a bike (TS09 EK 9431) for checking. Bike rider Naveen, 30, a resident of Chudi Bazaar in Dhoolpet, was carrying a bag with him.
Police checked the bag and found it contained ganja. Naveen was taken into custody for questioning, and he confessed to smuggling the contraband.
“Naveen had been to Odisha about seven days ago and purchased 11 kg ganja for Rs 35,000. He wanted to sell it and make money,” Asifnagar ACP N. Narsimha Reddy said. Naveen was arrested for drug peddling by the Mangalhat police,
