Chennai: The cyber crime wing of Chennai Crime Branch arrested a 27-year-old man for posting abusive videos of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, other ministers and police personnel from Kuwait, on Thursday. He was arrested when he reached Thiruvananthapuram Airport.
The accused, Sankaralingam (27) hailing from Sivaganga district, worked as a driver in Kuwait and posted videos on his Facebook account abusing the police personnel when a pregnant woman died in Tiruchy and ministers during Cauvery dispute as well as IPL controversy.
He also posted videos on Thoothukudi firing incident. Based on a complaint against him at Anna Nagar police station, a case was registered and forwarded to the cyber crime wing. The CCB sleuths who were monitoring his movements found out that he is coming back to his hometown through Kerala to evade arrest. However, CCB sleuths arrested him when he landed in Thiruvananthapuram airport.
