Film director found dead in house in Chennai

Police retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem.

Chennai: The police retrieved the body of a Tamil film director in a decomposed state in his residence on Thursday.

The deceased identified as S. Sivakumar, who had directed actor Arjun’s Ayudha Poojai and Ajith Kumar’s Rettai Jadai Vayasu, was unmarried and stayed at Venkateshwara Apartment at Venkatesa Nagar.

Since Sivakumar did not step out of his house for three days and a foul smell emanated from his house, the neighbours alerted police on Thursday morning. When the police broke open the house, Sivakumar was found dead and his body was lying in a decomposed state.

Police retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem. After the preliminary inquiry, police said that he is suspected to have suffered cardiac arrest two days ago while watching TV. Since the house was locked from inside and there was nobody to help him, he died within minutes with the TV remote in his hand.

Virugambakkam police registered a case and are investigating.
