Nigerian held with cocaine at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

Hyderabad: The Special Task Force of the Prohibition and Excise department nabbed a Nigerian national for trafficking drugs from Mumbai to Hyderabad via airlines.

Speaking at a press conference Assistant Excise Superintendent V. Vivek said the STF had deployed teams at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday evening after receiving credible information that a Nigerian national was trafficking drugs to the city and nabbed a person along with 10 grams (commercial quantity) of cocaine. Later, officials identified him as Alex Victor, 40, from Nigeria who was staying in Mumbai on a business visa.

“He visited the city to hand over cocaine to customers. So far he has not revealed any information and sometimes was saying that he visited the city to meet his brother and then that he came to meet a friend,” Mr Vivek said. Officials are checking his call data records.
