Hyderabad: Two minors were raped in Hayathnagar. In both the cases autodrivers were booked by the police.
In the first incident, Ashok, 23, an autorickshaw driver, befriended a 17-year-old girl and raped her after promising to marry her.
“The minor victim and Ashok stay in the same area. The girl had finished first year Iintermediate but was having backlogs in two subjects and had started working at a cloth store,” said inspector J. Narender Goud of Hayathnagar.
“He promised her that he will marry her, took her to a lodge in Autonagar and raped her. Next day, he told her that he will not be able to marry her,” added the inspector.
In the second incident, a 40-year-old autorickshaw driver raped his 13-year-old daughter and absconded.
“Meesala Madhusudhan, a resident of Kuntlooru, had two daughters aged 12 and 13 years and an 11-year-old son. Since some days, he had been harassing his eldest daughter, a Class VII student. On Thursday, while his wife Saroja was not at home and as the girls were doing homework, he called the 13-year-old to the bedroom and raped her after covering her mouth and fled,” the inspector said.
Police booked two cases against the autorickshaw drivers under IPC and Pocso (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) and launched a hunt to nab the culprits.
