Chennai: Five-year-old molested, one accused held
Victim's kin besiege ACP office.

Chennai: The molestation of 5-year-old girl, which came to light after the child narrated her harrowing experience to her tuition teacher, sparked tension as the kith and kin gheraoed M.K.B Nagar ACP office, demanding immediate arrest of the two teens who indulged in the act.
The child was reportedly molested by the teenagers, both studying class XI in a local school, on Sunday. Though the child informed her parents about the pain on Sunday itself, the parents ignored it thinking that their child was suffering from common illness caused due to the climate change. However, the child grew pale during her tuition session and confided in her teacher about the episode.
The teacher took the child to a private hospital in the vicinity besides alerting the parents. After treatment, the parents preferred a complaint with the Kodungayur police. As the news of the incident spread among the friends and relatives, a section of the relatives laid siege to the M.K.B Nagar ACP office.
The child was referred to the Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children, and was admitted for further treatment. Subsequently, a case was registered by Kodungayur police under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and forwarded to M.K.B Nagar All Woman police station.
One of the boys charged was picked up by the cops and was sent to the Observatory Home for Boys in Kelly’s. The hunt for the other boy is on.
