Petrol pump brawl kills cashier in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A cashier working at a petrol pump in Kukatpally was killed by six persons when he refused to fill petrol in their bikes on Wednesday midnight.
Police said that one Balram and his friends attacked the cashier Sangameshwar and manager Raju Yadav after an argument when the latter refused to fill petrol in their bikes as the pump was closed.
J. Sangameshwar, 29, belonging to Medak district, was working at the HP Petrol Pump in Sumitranagar in Kukatpally since seven years. He was living at Sanathnagar along with his wife and four-year-old daughter.
On Wednesday, when he and the petrol pump manager Raju Yadav were at the pump, an employee Balram, and his friends Krishna and Babloo, came to the pump at around 11.30 pm to fill their bikes. But manager Raju Yadav told them that the pump was closed.
Balram became angry and picked up an argument with Raju, leading to a scuffle and arguments, after which Balram left. After some time Balram and his friends, Krishna, Babloo, Nikhil, Kiran and Shiva came to the pump and started a fight with Raju, pulled him out and attacked him with sticks and iron rods.
“Seeing this, Sangameshwar who was in the office, rushed to Raju’s help and tried to pacify them. But the group attacked Sangameshwar and fled,” inspector K. Purushotham said.
Later, when he was taken to hospital, doctors declared him dead. The police registered a murder case and has launched a hunt to nab the killers. Meanwhile, Raju Yadav, who was also injured is recovering.
