Hyderabad: The Siddipet district police on Tuesday arrested two persons, Katkuri Saisharat Reddy and Md Naveed, for allegedly impersonating police personnel and duping people of money.
Police said the duo would call individuals claiming to be police personnel and ask for money. They would ask the targets to transfer the money to the account of any Mee Seva centre. They had duped three persons so far, said Siddipet commissioner N. Swetha.
Based on clues from the CCTV at a Mee Seva centre and other evidence, police nabbed the duo, she added. Their associates A. Kiran, K. Shiva Sai, G. Sumanth, P. Ranadhir and Madhu are absconding.
