Hyderabad: Madhapur police have registered a case against an unknown person who slapped a woman walking on the road in the IT corridor area at Madhapur.
They are verifying the footage from CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity to identify the suspect.
According to the complaint, the incident took place on Tuesday night at around 10.50 pm, when the 24-year-old woman who works in a company in the IT corridor area, was walking to her flat located at Vittal Rao Nagar in Madhapur after work. She was accompanied by her friend.
Suddenly, a man on a bike slapped her from behind as he drove by. As the street was poorly lit, the woman could not see the man’s face or the registration number of the bike. She lodged a complaint with the Madhapur police on Wednesday, following which a case was registered under section 354 of the IPC.
A Cyberabad police officer told this newspaper that after analysing the footage from the CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity, “We found some clues and teams are working on it to nab the accused.”
