Man grabs live wire at Secunderabad railway station
Hyderabad: A man committed suicide at the Secunderabad railway station on Tuesday by holding on to a live electric line. The man in his late twenties climbed atop the Garibrath Express and touched the electric cables.
Police said the train was on platform 4. Around 7.30 am there was a huge noise. Railway staff and police rushed there and found the body of a man lying on the roof of the train.
Police said the person could have climbed on the train through the gap between G7 and G8 bogies. “He might have committed suicide by touching the high voltage cables above. The body was lying on G7 bogie and was burnt beyond recognition,” railway inspector A. Anjaneyulu said. Police said that as the body was burnt they could not find any identification marks.
Police said the deceased was well built and stood around 5 feet 9 inches tall. As the cameras on platform 4 could not pick up the man police has started checking other CCTV cameras leading to platform 4 and the cameras installed at the entry and exit points of the railway station.
A suspicious death case was registered and the body was sent to Gandhi Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
