Hyderabad: Upset over detention, student takes own life
Hyderabad: Upset at being detained in the same class for six months, a second-year engineering student allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at his house in Uppal on Monday. Police registered a case of suspicious death following a complaint from the father of the deceased, an assistant engineer working at the Electricity department in Boduppal.
According to Uppal police, B. Bharath Nayak (23), a resident of Kummari Basthi in Uppal and native of Raipad Thanda in Bibinagar, was pursuing second year engineering (EEE) in Bharath Institute of Technology located at Ibrahimpatnam.
Bharath was recently detained in the same class for lacking attendance. He was upset with that and expressed the same to his father B. Balaram.
On Monday morning, Balaram went to the office and returned home in the evening, only to see that his son had allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling using a cloth. Based on his complaint, a case of suspicious death has been registered. The body was later handed over after the autopsy at Gandhi Hospital mortuary.
