Hyderabad: Told to not play PUBG, student hangs himself

The parents, with the help of neighbours, broke open the door to see Samsbashiva hanging from the ceiling.

Hyderabad: After being told not to play PUBG, a Class X student from Malkajgiri committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

Upset from being scolded by his mother, Unadevi, for playing the game, Kallakuri Samsbashiva (16), a 10th standard student at Gouthami High School, went into his bedroom and latched it from inside.

The parents, with the help of neighbours, broke open the door to see Samsbashiva hanging from the ceiling.

He was rushed to the LK Hospital in Malkajgiri, where he was declared brought dead, Malkajgiri sub-inspector K. Sanjeeva Reddy, said.

“The boy was said to be playing PUBG game on a mobile phone for over four months and he got addicted to it,” Reddy said.
