Bengaluru: Thief falls from PG building, dies
Bengaluru: A thief, who allegedly went to a women’s paying guest accommodation to commit a theft, accidentally fell from the fourth floor of the building and died on spot in Bellandur police limits early on Monday morning.
The deceased is around 28-35 years old and his identity and address are yet to established. The PG is situated on Sarjapur Main Road in Kaikondrahalli. The police suspect that the accused entered the PG from the next building.
Around 2.30 am, a few girls at the PG noticed an unknown man walking around and raised an alarm. He tried to escape by jumping onto the next building, but lost balance and fell from the fourth floor. He suffered severe head and chest injuries and died on the spot, the police said. His body was sent to St. John’s Hospital for the postmortem. The police suspect that he had gone to the PG to commit a theft. They are trying to establish his identity and are investigating if he was involved in other thefts and crimes. A senior police officer said that security guards at the PG failed to notice him as he might have jumped from the next building to enter the PG. The Bellandur police have registered a case and are investigating.
