Vasavi junior college's top brass hides, hunt begins
Hyderabad: Vanasthalipuram police has registered a case against the management of Vasavi Junior College for cheating students by collecting fees from them and not submitting the fees to the Intermediate Board, and have started searching for members of the management.
After one of the students made a complaint, the police on Wednesday registered a case of cheating (420) and criminal breach of trust (406) under the Indian Penal Code.
“Teams have been formed to trace the college’s managing partner, Shyam Sunder Reddy, and correspondent-cum-principal Srinivas Reddy alias Seenaiah,” said Inspector P Muralikrishna of the Vanasthalipuram police.
Intermediate Board officials said that the examination will be conducted in May for students who have lost out and they will be treated as regular students. The matter came to light after the college management did not issue hall tickets to students who were appearing for their final exams on Wednesday.
Though the examination fees had been collected from the students, the college did not remit the same to the board. There were protests from students and their parents on Tuesday and Wednesday.
