Hyderabad: Complaint against corporator for harassing farmer

Hayathnagar corporator Sama Tirumal Reddy had been harassing Rajaram regarding a 2.32 acre piece of land.

Hyderabad: An 80-year-old farmer named Gajji Rajaram from Anmagal village approached Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagawat stating that Hayathnagar corporator Sama Tirumal Reddy had been harassing him regarding a 2.32 acre piece of land that he had inherited from his ancestors.

The commissioner directed the police to inquire into the issue. Rajaram in his complaint said that his 2.32 acre in survey no: 303, 304, 305, 350 and 351 is located near Batula Kunta pond.

On February 25, corporator Sama Tirumal Reddy entered the land and asked him to remove boundary stones. Rajaram said that Tirumal Reddy demanded money and when they did not pay him filed a complaint saying that they had encroached into the pond’s FTL.

Revenue officials said the corporator complained about encroachments in the tank, but inquiries revealed that the land of Rajaram did not encroach into FTL. The corporator was not available for comment.
