Hyderabad: Police seized 150 bottles of oxytocin steroids from one Mohammed Arif in Saidabad on March 1. Arif had kept the steroid bottles in his shop and was planning to sell it to dairy farms in and around old city.
He had purchased the steroids from a medical shop in Edi Bazaar in Hyderabad. The shop owner, Mohammed Khaled, is absconding. Police said each bottle contained 150 ml of oxytocin which was purchased for Rs15. Oxytocin is injected in cattle to make them secrete more milk but it can cause health problems in women and children.
