Bengaluru: The Cyber Crime Police have arrested a 58-year-old banker from Secunderabad for allegedly sending a girl student from Madikeri an obscene photograph with her morphed image.
Based on a complaint, the police tracked down the accused, identified as Shailendra Goje, an assistant manager with a private bank, and booked him under various sections of the Information Technology Act. The victim was shocked to see her morphed image in the obscene photograph and informed her family members who in turn filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime police. During questioning, Goje feigned ignorance and claimed that the mobile phone did not belong to him.
But the preliminary investigation revealed that he had the mobile phone with him when the image was sent. The police have remanded Goje to judicial custody and are continuing with the investigation to ascertain whether more people are involved in the racket.
