Vijayawada: NRI had affair with his niece, say police
Vijayawada: The police formed 10 teams and began investigation into the suspicious death of NRI industrialist and Coastal Bank chairman Chigurupati Jayaram.
The police team went to Hyderabad and questioned several people. Krishna district SP Sarvasreshth Tripathi said that the police had not taken any person into custody so far.
According to reports, the police are suspecting the role of Jayaram’s niece Madhuri alias Sikha Chowdary in the murder.
The police came to know that Jayaram was murdered two days ago and that two cars were used to shift the body.
On January 31, Jayaram left his house and stayed at Dasapalla Hotel in Hyderabad. The CCTV footage from the hotel was collected. Jayaram reportedly participated in a company meeting in the hotel and later, he came out with a person. The cops also found that a person wearing white shirt was driving Jayaram’s car through CCTV footage recorded at various toll gates.
The police called up Jayaram’s wife, Padmasri, and inquired her too.
They questioned Jayaram’s sister Manisha, their car driver and other family members.
Sikha Chowdary, who forcibly entered into the house of Jayaram in Hyderabad, was brought to Kanchikacharla police and interrogated. She earlier worked in a news channel in Hyderabad and later, joined as a director in the Express TV Telugu channel in 2015. The affairs between Jayaram and Sikha was reportedly objected by Padmasri. Sikha has a boyfriend, Rakesh. The police came to know about Sikha having relations with her boyfriend Rakesh hence the police also conducting an investigation about the duo’s involvement.
Krishna district SP Sarvasreshth Tripathi said that body of Jayaram was shifted to Hyderabad. He said that the police traced some important points during the investigation, questioning all suspects including family members and said that soon the mystery would be revealed.
