Hyderabad: The Cyber Crimes team of the Central Crime Station (CCS) arrested Tameem Haq, 23, on Saturday.
According to the police, the person wanted to marry a girl from Hyderabad and kept harassing her despite her denying and saying she is already engaged to another person. Unable to bear the rejection, the accused planned to torture the girl by morphing her photos.
He later spread it on various social networking sites. He also sent the photos to the girl’s fiancé, due to which the marriage was broken and the girl’s father died due to heart attack.
The inspector of police, CCS, B. Chand Basha said , “A complaint was lodged by the girl’s uncle with the CCS and he stated the ordeal of their family. After receiving the complaint a special team was formed and went to Hindupur and arrested the harasser under Section 67 A of IT Act, 2008 and Section 506, 507 of IPC.”
