Hyderabad: A housewife committed suicide by hanging at her residence in Nacharam on Tuesday due to alleged harassment from her husband.
According to the police, the victim, identified as Renuka, married to Kasi Vishwanath, 34, about 12 years back, and the couple have two children, Jeevan Kumar, 8, and Navya, 6.
On Tuesday, at around 7 pm, R. Pandu, Kasi’s brother received a call stating that Renuka committed suicide by hanging,” police said.
“Kasi was harassing Renuka both physically and mentally, ever since they got married. His alcohol addiction only made it unable for her to bear the torture,” said Renuka’s mother, Mamidi Bayamma, 60, a labourer.
Based on the complaint, the Nacharam police booked cases under relevant Sections of the IPC and launched a probe.
