Youth attempts suicide by climbing water tank

Kakinada: A young man climbed a water tank at Gollayigudem on Friday and threatened to jump off.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the one town police led by circle inspector Rajasekhar rushed to the scene and attempted to persuade the youth to descend safely. However, the individual remained unresponsive and insisted on speaking to his ward corporator.

After four hours of the tense standoff, the youth unexpectedly climbed down from the water tank on his own accord. Police officials surmised that the individual was likely experiencing mental distress and disturbance.
