Hyderabad: Kanchanbagh police unravelled the mystery of the death of two children on Saturday and said their mentally disturbed mother had killed them.
The children were identified as Neha Jabeen, 15, and Mohd Abdul Aziz, 14.
According to the police, their mother, Syeda Farhath Begum, 35, was mentally disturbed for the past fortnight, fearing that she would die anytime due to her ill-health.
She wanted to kill her children before she died, as her husband would not look after them after her demise. Following this, she killed her two children on October 26 between 5.30 pm and 9 pm, lacing their soft drink with sleeping pills, giving them insulin injections and strangling them with her foot. Kanchan-bagh police has booked her for murder.
