Bengaluru: Man abuses minor daughter for two years, wife files plaint
Bengaluru: A complaint has been registered at the Hennur police station against a man who sexually abused his 14-year-old daughter.
His wife filed the complaint after the child helpline counsellors convinced her to approach the police. The police are now hunting for the accused, who is absconding.
The police said that the accused was abusing his daughter, who is a student, for the last two years. Around 3.30 pm on October 19, he was trying to force himself on his daughter when the wife tried to prevent him, but he pushed her away. Later, he shut the door and sexually assaulted the daughter, the complaint states.
The wife, who was scared of the social stigma, had not filed a complaint. But when he started becoming increasingly abusive against both the daughter and wife, she contacted the child helpline.
Counsellors at the helpline convinced her to file the police complaint.
Hennur police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act 2012 under sections 12 &8 and Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 under Section 75.
