BENGALURU: A ride to Bidadi to have Tatte Idli turned tragic for an 18-year-old student after a speeding KSRTC bus knocked down his bike from behind on Thursday morning in Kengeri traffic police station limits.
The deceased has been identified as Poornachandra, a resident of Vijayanagar, and was a second PU student in a private college in Vijaynagar. According to the police, on Thursday morning, he along with his two friends decided to go to Bidadi to eat Thatte Idli. The incident took place at around 8 am on NICE road, while the three were on riding different bikes when a speeding KSRTC bus knocked down Poornachandra’s bike.
As a result he got tossed up in air and after crashing he got run over by the rear wheels of the bus. He died on spot due to severe head and leg injuries.
The Kengeri traffic police rushed to the spot, seized the bus and immediately arrested the driver Chikappa.
The police have registered a case and shifted the body to R.R. Nagar hospital for postmortem.
