Chennai: NCB arrests Nigerian man for couriering drugs

During questioning, Thomas told NCB officials that he had received the consignment from another Nigerian in Delhi.

Chennai: A Nigerian national was arrested on Wednesday by the Narcotics Control Bureau officials for parcelling Methamphetamine to a person in Qatar. Glen Thomas, 30, was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sleuths following a seizure of 20 grams of Methamphetamine he had concealed in cycle spare parts and couriered it from Medavakkam on September 5.

According to officials, the parcel returned to the courier agency as the foreign address was not mentioned clearly. However, on scanning the parcel it was found to be contraband.

While verifying the documents, the officials found that the man had stayed in a rented room with his friend, also a Nigerian, in Medavakkam. Thomas worked as a 'facilitator' for patients coming from abroad for treatment in hospitals

During questioning, Thomas told NCB officials that he had received the consignment from another Nigerian in Delhi. Police arrested him and a hunt for the Nigerian living in Delhi is on.
