Hyderabad: A 23-year-old man was arrested by the Humayun Nagar police on Wednesday for looting gold ornaments from his sister. The accused was identified as Tofeeq Khan, a CCTV camera technician from Aliabad. “On October 23, while his brother-in-law was away, he entered the house and demanded the cupboard keys which had the gold. On refusing, he tried to strangle his sister and hit her head with a cooker when she tried to scream for help,” said DCP, west zone, A. Venkateshwar Rao. While she fell on the floor bleeding, he fled with the 4 tolas of gold ornaments.
In another development, a 60-year-old man was arrested by the Humayun Nagar police on Tuesday for looting Rs 25,000 and 43 tolas of gold from a techie’s house. The accused was identified as Abdul Waheed Khan alias Waheed, a car driver. The burglary took place on Sunday while the inmates of the house were away.
