The source of the fire is said to to be a short circuit that ignited in the noon.
Fire safety is not a serious concern for many establishments in Vizag, which is tipped to attain smart city status.
Hyderabad: A fire broke out in a shop bundled up with cotton in Malkajgiri on Wednesday. There were no causalities, however. “The source of the fire is said to be a short circuit, which ignited around 12:15 pm on Wednesday,” said fire officials. “It took one fire tender to put off the fire,” added the official. Properties worth Rs 80,000 were gutted in the fire.
