Bengaluru: Double degree, no job drives MBA graduate to suicide
Bengaluru: Unable to get a job, a 36-year-old MBA graduate hanged himself at his friend’s house in Yelahanka police limits on Sunday night.
The deceased, Santosh Kumar, who hailed from Bagalakote, had come to the city for a job interview. He was depressed as he could not land any job and decided to end his life, the police said.
He came to the city a week ago and took a room on rent in Vijayanagar. He was depressed that despite having a double degree, he was unable to get a job in the city. On Sunday morning, he packed all his belongings and sent them back to his hometown.
In the afternoon, he went to his friend Rudrappa's house in Narayanappa Layout in Allalasandra for lunch and later locked himself in his friend’s room. Rudrappa and his mother thought that he was resting, but around 4.30 pm, they called out for him, and when he did not respond, they peeped through the window to find him hanging from the ceiling. They informed the police, who arrived at the spot and shifted the body for postmortem.
The Yelahanka police have registered a case and handed over the body to his family members.
