Mancherial: The Government hospital staff in Mancherial town found a newborn male baby stuffed in a polythene bag in the bathroom on Monday morning. The baby was immediately given treatment but the doctors could not save him as he had suffocated.
The mother, after giving birth to the baby, may have stuffed him inside the polythene bag, left it in the bathroom and fled the hospital late on Sunday.
The ward cleaners found the baby while cleaning the bathroom and informed the doctors who immediately shifted the baby to the intensive care unit.
The hospital staff say that some outsiders might have hidden the baby in the bathroom. The hospital authorities have started analysing the footage of CCTV cameras in the wards and around the hospital to find the culprit.
