Dark Web drug nexus busted in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) for the first time arrested two kingpins involved in supplying synthetic drugs using the dark web as also six local drug peddlers and identified 30 drug consumers. Police seized 140 grams of charas, 1,450 grams ganja, 184 LSD bolts, 10 grams of MDMA, seven mobiles all worth Rs. 9 lakh.

The prime accused were identified as Narendra Arya alias Holy Shop of Goa and Farhan Mohammed Ansari alias Treeminator of Rajasthan, a BTech student. The local drug peddlers were Utkarsh Umang alias Ashu, Sahil Sharma, Abdullah Khan, Indra Kumar, A. Charan Kumar and P. Bushan Raj from city.

The accused used the Dark Web to avoid being traced, and the transactions were done in cryptocurrency in the name of Zambada Cartel that exclusively deals with LSD, said city police commissioner C.V. Anand, in his first press meeting at the Integrated Command Control Centre said. He said the duo had supplied drugs to 450 consumers nationwide.

The arrests were made by Gummi Chakravarthy, deputy commissioner of police, H-NEW, under the direction of Anand.
