Hyderabad: A 16-year-old boy studying in a government-run residential school in the city was allegedly sodomised by three of his classmates. The boy’s father lodged a complaint with Chandrayangutta police who apprehended the three juveniles named in the complaint and produced them before the Juvenile Justice Board.
A private tutor from the city went to meet his son who is studying in a government-run residential school in Chandrayangutta. The boy seemed dull and did not speak much to his father.
When his father coaxed him, the youth spoke about the sexual attack. He told his father that he was being sodomised by three of his classmates for over a year but had kept silent due to their threats, police said.
The tutor approached Childline officials, who informed the Chandrayan-gutta police. The police after an inquiry apprehended the three students, all aged 16 and residents of Hyderabad, and produced them before the JJ Board.
A Chandrayangutta police officer said, “it was found that the boy was subjected to sexual abuse for over a year. His three classmates used to take him to the bathroom of the hostel to sexually assault him. They threatened to kill him and his father if he informed anyone. He broke down before his father.”
The boy was sent for a medical examination and then handed over to his father. He will be counselled at the Bharosa support centre for women and children. “The three boys were booked under IPC and POCSO Act and produced before the JJ Board,” he said.
