Hyderabad: Ghanian held with cocaine
Hyderabad: A man hailing from Ghana was caught in possession of 100 grams of cocaine and Rs 1 lakh in cash by the State Task Force police late on Friday night near Hussainsagar. Officials said that the market value of the seized stash was estimated to be Rs 10 lakh.
The 29-year-old man, identified as Peter alias Kelochi Sunday, was previously booked by the Bangaluru police with cocaine and MDMA. “He procures the contraband from his brother in Bangalore and sells it to needy customers in Hyderabad,” said V. Vivek, the Assistant Excise Superintendent of State Task Force.
“A habitual offender, Peter was temporarily residing at BS Makta near Hussainsagar in Hyderabad. His brother is reportedly absconding. Peter was previously arrested by RK Puram police station in Bangaluru where he was caught for being in possession of 10 grams of cocaine and 2 grams of MDMA. After getting out on bail, he shifted to Hyderabad” said the official.
He did not reveal his customer base or give out any details about them. The seekers directly contact his brother, who then calls Peter and hands him the stash. “His usual spot to sell or meet customers is GVK Mall in Banjara Hills. He meets with his customers there and sells them the drugs. We have confiscated a phone from him which we are yet to analyse,” concluded the official.
