Kolkata: Sleuths of the Kolkata police are planning to reconstruct the entire incident of gangrape and murder of a minor girl by two drivers of an online cab aggregator service, a day after the duo confessed to their crime.

The two, who are in their early 20s, have been remanded into police custody till September 9 for the crime.

During investigation it surfaced that the duo – Guddu Singh and Shankar Shaw – had got the car serviced at a garage and went to a red light area at Khidderpore in the port area of the city on Tuesday night, a Kolkata police officer said.

There, they had consumed liquor and got embroiled in a quarrel following which they were forced to leave the area.

As per the CCTV footage, the duo then drove through Dalhousie Square area of the city at around 3.45 am to the Brabourne Road flyover twice.

Guddu was at the wheels and while driving to Dalhousie Square stopped the vehicle near the Tea Board bus stop, alighted from it and took away the minor girl sleeping on the footpath.

Then he along with Shankar drove through Netaji Subhas Road, Hastings and took the AJC Bose Road flyover and drove towards Park Circus flyover, he said.

They took turns to rape the minor inside the moving car and then got scared that she might identify them if they let her go.

"It was then that Shankar strangulated her to death," the officer said.

After killing the girl they drove to GJ Khan Road in Topsia area and threw the body in a canal, he said.

The officer said four bottles of alcohol had been recovered from the vehicle.

"A forensic examination on the car will also be done as part of the investigation," he said, adding that sleuths of the force were also planning to reconstruct the entire incident and take the help of the two accused.
