Hyderabad: Man held for murder bid
Hyderabad: A 33-year-old man who tried to kill a labourer after a petty quarrel was arrested by the Habeebnagar police.
According to the police the victim, Mohd Ansar, 45, had migrated to the city from AP in search of livelihood. The accused, Mohd Arif Khan, 33, does odd jobs. Both had been quarrelling over petty issued and it had led to fisticuffs.
Habeebnagar inspector P. Shiva Chandra said, “At about 9.30 pm, while Ansar was sitting in front of a shop at Murgi Market, Arif Khan picked up quarrel and started beating him.”
When Ansar tried to stop him, Arif Khan pulled out a blade and tried to slash his neck.
The victim sustained a deep cut on the left jaw and began bleeding. Passers-by called the ambulance and police. Police took Ansar to the Osmania Hospital and booked a case under IPC 307 (attempt to murder) and arrested Arif Khan.
