Land grabbing racket busted, 7 arrested in Hayathnagar
Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police bust a major land grabbing racket in Hayathnagar and arrested seven members of a gang, including a GHMC employee. Two other suspects involved in the racket are already serving term in a different case. Police said that the suspects created fake death certificates of original land owners and made GPA on their names and sold them to others. The victims included a retired Customs official.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said a victim Jyothi, from Malakpet, purchased a land in Kuntloor in 1986, but Chella Sridhar Reddy, the main accused in the racketeering, along with other ac-cused, procured photocopies of the registration documents. Using these, the gangsters along with the help of a GHMC bill collector, prepared fake death certificate of a retired customs official, Nagesh V Rao. Claiming to be his heir, they executed sales in favour of another accused, Sanjeev Kumar Singh. All the acc-used were sent to remand.
Suresh who claimed to be the son of Nagesh V Rao, got a legal heir certificate using the fake death certificate and using this, obtained a certified copy of the sale deed from Sub Registrar Office in Hayathnagar and even executed it on one of the suspect's names. Another accused Sanjeev Kumar Singh purchased the land knowing that the documents were fake.
Later, Sridhar Reddy colluded with Suresh and Vinay Kumar, prepared fake documents with forged signatures and duplicate stamps related to other plots with the same survey numbers and executed sale deeds in favour of Sanjeev Kumar Singh. Seven persons were arrested in this case and sent to remand.
