Telangana: Thief goes on pilgrimage, arrested
Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police on Saturday nabbed a notorious house theft offender in Medchal, who used the money earned by disposing the stolen property on pilgrimages. The suspect was identified as Pitla Naresh.
Petbasheerabad ACP A Srinivas Rao said that Naresh studied upto Intermediate and started working. For few months, he worked in a private firm supplying DTH services and later left the job and started driving an auto rickshaw.
As his earnings were not enough to fulfill his needs, he started committing thefts in locked houses and made easy money with the stolen property. He was arrested in April and was out on bail in May. On June 6, he barged into locked a quarter in Mediciti Hospital in Medchal and stole Rs 80,000.
“He took Rs 40,000 cash and went on a pilgrimage to Srisailam and then to Vizag. On June 27, he broke into a house in Medchal and decamped with a computer and an LCD television,” the ACP said.
On Saturday, while he was trying to dispose the stolen articles, teams from Medchal police station nabbed him and on inquiry, he confessed of committing thefts in two houses. Police arrested him and recovered Rs 40,000 cash, an LCD TV and a monitor from him.
