Hyderabad: One person was killed and another was injured when an ambulance rammed the roadside railing on the NH at Kothagudem near Hayathnagar on Wednesday. B. Ram Mohan, 59, a resident of Raman-napet, died on the spot, while another person and the ambulance driver were injured seriously.
The victim, Ram Mohan, was coming to Hyderabad from Ramannapet with an ambulance to pick his ailing father from a private hospital. Police said the mishap occurred due to speeding. “The driver lost control due to speeding. The ambulance hit the railing resulting in the instant death of a passenger. The vehicle was damaged seriously,” said a cop.
Hayathnagar inspector J. Narender Goud said the ambulance was hired from Nalgonda and the victim was coming with oxygen kits to take his father home. Police booked a case against the ambulance driver.
