Hyderabad: Woman kills lover with sons' help

Police traced the accused on the basis of clues and arrested Ankulamma and her two minor sons.

Hyderabad: A 40-year-old woman, Rapothu Ankulamma, working as a help in a private college, who was in an illegal relationship with her colleague, killed him with the help of her minor sons. The incident occurred on April 22 while the woman's paramour, Narender, died on April 27. Hayathnagar police arrested Ankulamma and her sons on Tuesday.

Ankulamma had called her paramour, D. Narender, to her house when her husband and sons were away. However, on knowing that her sons were returning home, she asked him to leave. When he refused, she told her sons that Narender was harassing her. She and her sons beat him severely, leaving him in an unconscious condition.

Police traced the accused on the basis of clues and arrested Ankulamma and her two minor sons. The woman was sent in remand and the boys aged 17 and 16 were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and sent to a correctional home.

According to the police, Ankulamma, hailing from Nagarkurnool district, had migrated to the city along with her family a decade ago. For the past four years, she was working as a help at Narayana College's Bhagyalatha branch. Narender worked in the kitchen of the same college for the past eight years. The two became close and got into a physical relationship.

However, after Ankulamma's husband, Lingaiah, and sons came to know of the affair, she started avoiding Narender. On April 22, after her husband left for his native place, she sent her sons out for a movie at night and called Narender home. The two had sex. Later, she asked him to leave but he refused. She told him that her sons were about to return home, but he did not leave.

Fearing that she might be seen with him, she called her sons over phone and told them that Narender was harassing her. They immediately rushed home and beat him up. To avoid suspicion, she also pretended to kick him. When the man fell unconscious, they took his mobile phone and left their house.

Later in the night, Narender woke up and went to his room where he told his roommate about the incident. Five days later, he collapsed on the road and died. During inquiry, police found that he died of internal injuries on vital organs. Cops also came to know about the incident that had occurred at Ankulamma's house. On questioning, they admitted to their role in the incident.
