Hyderabad Lake police stops suicide bid by 6 persons

In the first case, a woman aged around 19 years came to Hussain Sagar Lake on April 30, to end her life.

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Lake police rescued six people from committing suicide at Tankbund in the past two days. In the first case, a woman aged around 19 years came to Hussain Sagar Lake on April 30, to end her life. On inquiry, it came to light that she was married and was facing issues in her marriage and had slipped into depression. She thus wished to end her life. She was counselled and sent with her parents and was advised for further counselling at Bharosa Centre.

In the second case, a woman aged around 36 years tried to commit suicide on Tuesday and was rescued by the Lake police team and brought to the police station. On inquiry, it came to light that she was also facing family problems which prompted her to commit suicide. The victim was counselled and was sent with family members.

In the third case, 33-year-old woman employed in a private firm tried to commit suicide at Hussain Sagar Lake around 3pm in the afternoon along with her two daughters, aged nine and six respectively. All three of them were rescued and brought to the police station. The woman said her husband has been torturing her and her children. She was counselled and sent with family. In the fourth case, a 24-year-old woman tried to jump into the lake for committing suicide. It was later found out that she was four-months pregnant and was being harassed by her husband.
