Hyderabad: A speeding car ran amok and mowed down a person and seriously injured a biker at Maheshwaram on Monday. The deceased was identified as Prathap, 36. The injured man, Anemoni Krishna, 35, is a farmer and a resident of Kurmidda village.
“Krishna was riding his bike when the rashly driven car hit him. The car also hit Prathap, who was standing by the roadside. Krishna suffered serious injuries on the leg. Prathap was killed on the spot,” said Sudhakar, a constable. The car driver was identified as Sunkara Ratna Kumar, 26, a native of Potluru village in Guntur.
Maheshwaram police booked a case under Sections 304A (death through negligence) and 337 (inflicting injuries through an act endangering the life or safety of others) and took him into custody.
