Woman kidnaps 5 year old, Hyderabad police solve case in 2 hours
Hyderabad: The kidnapping of a five-year-old girl in Jeedimetla on Thursday was solved by the police in less than two hours.
As soon as the parents lodged a complaint, the police shared the details and pictures on social media platforms.
A passerby, who had noticed the girl crying after being abandoned by the kidnapper, recognised the photo and alerted the police. The child was then handed over to her parents.
D. Raju the father of Babitha said that around 11.40 am, when he was getting ready for work, Babitha asked him for money to buy a snack from a nearby shop.
She took the money, bought the snack and came back and continued playing in front of her house.
The kidnapper, a woman, approached the girl and lured her away by offering to buy her sweets.
She took the child to Lambadi basti around three kilometres away. She then removed the girl's earrings, bought her sweets from a shop nearby, and went off abandoning the little girl.
Seeing the child crying a passerby approached her and after matching her picture with the one the police had circulated, he alerted the police.
Her father Raju thanked the police for their swift action. “Thank god we got our daughter back safe. I appeal to the cops to track the kidnapper woman so that other kids don't fall prey to her,” he said. The Jeedimetla police have registered a case and have started investigations.
