Hyderabad: The police has arrested the relative of an Army soldier for siphoning off money from the bank account of the jawan. The relative, Gudipalli Vishnu Prasad, 24, misused the bank account details of Bylla Kishore Kumar, a soldier. Police said the accused transferred Rs 3.6 lakh from December 2015 till February 2017.
Based on a complaint by the wife of the victim, police booked a case against Prasad for cheating. Police said he exploited the minimal banking knowledge of Kishore, obtained a ‘Net banking kit’ on his behalf and the mobile number provided for receiving SMS alerts changed. He then transferred money from Kishore’s account to his friends’ accounts for a year, in small amounts to avoid detection, police said.
