HYDERABAD: 33-year-old R Srinu, working on a contract basis as an accountant cum computer assistant in the Mandal Parishad Office at Amangal, died by suicide. He killed himself by jumping into a lake late on Wednesday, police said.
Police found that moments before taking the extreme step, he spoke to his family members over phone and even shared his location with them on WhatsApp. After telling them to take care of themselves, he disconnected the call. Worried, his family members called him back, but when he did not respond, they rushed to Amangal police station and lodged a complaint.
Based on the location shared to the family members, police rushed to the spot and reached a lake in Amangal. On suspicions that he could have jumped in the lake, a search operation was started and his body was recovered from the lake.
Police found that he was going through some health issues and even took treatment. But as there was no result, he could have taken the extreme step, they said. A week ago too, Srinu spoke to his family members about his health issues and was found upset over the same.
Amangal police registered a case and started an investigation.
