Karimnagar: Inter student attempts suicide, dies of burns
Karimnagar: A student, Ms D. Ruchitha, studying Intermediate second-year MPC in Alphores College, allegedly attempted suicide in the college in Rekurthy in Kothapalli mandal in Karimnagar district by setting herself on fire after dousing herself with kerosene.
Ruchitha was rushed to the Government Hospital in Karimnagar where she died last night. It is learnt that Ruchitha had recently gone home to attend the funeral of her grandfather. She returned back to college but was found to be moody for the last three days.
On the day the incident occurred, it is learnt that Ruchitha excused herself from class complaining that she had developed a stomach ache. She attempted suicide in the bathroom of the hostel. Ruchitha was a native of Naspur, Nagarjuna colony in Mancherial district.
There are allegations that the management of the college shifted Ruchitha who suffered severe burns secretly to the Government Hospital. There are also rumours that Ruchitha had burned alive in the fire accident that took place in the college recently.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists staged a protest in front of the hospital demanding that the authorities reveal how Ruchitha suffered severe burns and also about the incident.
